Introducing 'The Wine Life' Blog

I like what I make and I make what I like. That has always been my philosophy of wine making. I guess it will be my philosophy of The Wine Life as well. I admit though now that I am older I mostly want to make wine for others to enjoy. But, not something they can get anywhere. It has to be a wine that only I can make. That is why I live for the blend of different vineyards, instead of dully promoting one vineyard. I have never liked little limited, elite things. Life is about expanding yourself. I want lots of people to enjoy what I do. That has to go for the wine life too. It has to be special and different. So, it can't just be another blog. Think of it as a mini-internet magazine. We don't blog our opinions daily or weekly. We post stories about wine and people. When I read most wine blogs I always leave feeling that there is something missing. Generally, it is a historical or industry point of perspective. I am not shooting at anyone over this. I wish I was younger and fresher and not a 30 year veteran of the wine industry. Still it does bring a perspective that no one else has.

The Wine Life looks at the wine industry from the unique vantage point of a thirty year industry insider, winemaker and broker of grapes and wines, and founder of a new winery. I might add an insider who was there almost from the beginning and knows where every bone is buried. It also includes counterpoints from the lovely Lisa: a female, younger, one trained on the sales side, whose viewpoint is to say the least often different than mine. Andy Brumer one of our countries best writers throws us an occasional story relating to two of my favorite things: wine and golf. Lisa thought I was going to say women. Because of my relationship to art we will occasionally show and discuss a little art. Maybe even Lisa will explain to you why a Glock is her preferred weapon of choice. You can mess with me but be wary of Lisa.
