Fishing-Part four

I pack up our car. The boys wanted to look at their fish one more time. I wanted to remind Luke about how negative he had been. I wanted to tell him that I use to be that way until one day I woke up and I discovered the universe wasn’t a hostile place. The universe is really a magical place, where what you think almost always comes to you. You have to be careful what you think. You have to be smart and work. But, wonderful things will happen. I wanted to tell him all that now that he seemed to be in a period where he was sad and down on himself. But, when I looked at him, he was smiling and touching his fish. I didn’t want to change his mood with a lecture. The lake caught my attention. I looked back down at Luke. He was looking up at me. “I am hungry,” he said. “Me too,” I said. “How about we go to In N Out Burger?” I asked. “Yeah!” they both cheered.

Billy ate two In N Out burgers, an order of fries, and a shake. Luke tried to do the same. Billy was happy. I am not saying it was the best day Luke ever had. But, I know he enjoyed himself. Then my 125 mile per hour brain took off on me. I wondered if Billy and Luke would remember this day sometime long after I am gone. Will they day dream of me as I dream of my cousins, my Uncle, and Justin?
