Why is it that the women of Florida are so much better looking than the men? This thought crossed my mind at several of our events, as first I looked at Ron and Ed who were assisting me, then at the lovely ladies who attended. I want to thank our hosts and all who came. There are several of you who I hope will become long term friends. It was also great to see old friends like the Moyers.

I want to thank my friends at Jake's on the Lake up at Lake Tahoe. I always enjoy the creative pairings that Chef Chris works with our wines. He is extremely gifted. There is no better view of Lake Tahoe than from Jake's, and there is no prettier lake than Tahoe. You should all get up there.

This begins our fifth year of sales. It is humbling to have so many of you come to our dinners for the third time in a row. It is fun to taste the older vintages of our wines that you bring, many that I no longer have. It is great seeing you again. I look forward to every wine dinner and pour.

I am home for awhile. We are bottling Cabernet Sauvignon the next two weeks. If any of you will be in Napa, come and watch. I’ll take you to lunch.

It is good to be home. My dog Bogie turned 13 yesterday. What does that make him, 91? How time flies. I can remember him as a puppy destroying everything I own. Bogie was three months old when he arrived from France. The guys opened his crate and he just marched down the airline baggage ramp as if it were an everyday event. Now his right foot bothers him and he hesitates getting in and out of the car. That is just not like him. Bogie has never hesitated to do anything. He is developing some similarities of a long time spouse. I notice he is becoming conveniently deaf. He pretends not to hear me.

One step back and then two forward. Jennefer J is now safe in Australia and has been replaced by Heidi T. Megan S has just joined us in San Francisco. I am excited to have both of them. We are blessed with quality people who come to work with us. Nina is getting ready for her radio show. It is wine themed. She will be calling for suggestions soon so think up some real bizarre wine songs.

Lastly we were visited by celebrity imposter Frida Kahlo. Pictures will be going up soon.
